Who we are

Marvolen is a small vehicle hire company in Salford. We deliver rather than operate a depot, so there is no forecourt, no counter and nowhere for you to travel to. The fleet is one Moskvich 5, with a smaller Moskvich held in reserve so a confirmed booking is never cancelled because of somebody else's late return.

Why we specialise

Running one car means we know its history in detail rather than approximately. We can tell you when it was last serviced, who did it, what was replaced and why. A firm with a large mixed fleet cannot do that, and for most people hiring for a week that detail matters more than choice.

It also lets us be honest in public. We have published a full year of living with this car, including the parts that irritate and the figures we are not willing to invent.

How the car is kept

• One independent garage in Salford, on the manufacturer's service interval
• Transmission fluid strictly to schedule, which is what a CVT actually needs
• Tyres, brakes and fluids checked on every return
• Full valet before each handover
• A fault flagged at return stops the car going out again until it is fixed

How we quote

The full price goes to you in writing before anything is agreed, with insurance, breakdown cover, delivery and the mileage allowance already inside it. Nothing appears at the handover that was not on that page. If the car is booked on your dates, we say so rather than taking a deposit and working it out later.
